Three All-Conference Players for Hoops; Marcinek Coach of the Year

TOWSON, Md. – Three players from the 19th-ranked Susquehanna men's basketball team have earned All-Landmark Conference recognition while head coach Frank Marcinek and his assistants have been named the Landmark Coaching Staff of the Year.

Senior forward Josh Miller was named to the First Team while classmate Brandon Hedley and junior Steven Weidlich were Second-Team honorees.

Miller has started all 27 games this year and leads the team in scoring (17.6 ppg) and rebounding (8.3 rpg) to earn All-Conference honors for the second-straight year. His points-per-game average places him fifth in the conference while he stands third in rebounding. He is shooting 54.7 percent from the floor, 45.5 percent from three-point range – second-best in the Landmark – and 84.4 percent at the free throw line, which also places him third in the conference. Miller has 48 assists, a team-leading 20 blocks and 19 steals while averaging 31.6 minutes per game.

Hedley, meanwhile, is an All-Conference recipient for the third time in his career. Like Miller, he has started all 27 games and is averaging just under 13 points per outing. He has 87 assists to average 3.2 assists per game, tied for the sixth-best average in the conference. Hedley, who was the 2012-13 Landmark Rookie of the Year, has drained 75 threes this year and boasts a 42.8 field goal percentage. He is also tied for the team lead with 29 steals and averages nearly 32 minutes per game.

Weidlich is an All-Conference player for the second straight-year. He scored his 1,000th career point in early February and is averaging nearly 16 points per game to place him ninth in the conference. Weidlich is also averaging five rebounds per game to go along with 87 assists and 29 steals while shooting 42.6 percent from the floor, 36 percent from three-point range and 85 percent at the free throw line. Like Hedley, he is tied for sixth in the conference in assists per game average.

Finally, this marks the second-straight year Marcinek has earned this. Marcinek, who is assisted by Chad Bailey, Sam Moore, Mark Prusch and Aaron Ettinger, has guided the team to a program-record 23 victories thus far this season.
