Senior guard Steven Weidlich helped the men's basketball team to three victories last week with wins over Dickinson, Lancaster Bible and Moravian and has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 8.
Weidlich had a team-leading 20.1 points per game during the week including a high of 29 points in the victory over Lancaster Bible. He was also tied for the team lead with 19 rebounds and four steals while leading the team with 12 assists. He shot nearly 50 percent from the field (21-for-43) and connected on 7-of-16 3-pointers and only missed one free throw in the three games.
Susquehanna improved to 12-1 overall and is currently tied with Catholic and Scranton at the top of the Landmark Conference standings with each team holding a 2-0 record. The River Hawks host Scranton Wednesday night in a key conference matchup.
