Ritter and McIntosh Share Crusader Football POW Award; Next QB Club Meeting Set for Friday, Nov. 6, at 12 p.m.

SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- The next Susquehanna University Athletics Quarterback Club meeting is set for Friday, Nov. 6, from 12-1 p.m. in the Apple Community Room of Susquehanna's James W. Garrett Sports Complex.

The QB Club meetings are luncheons that take place before each week's SU football game.

The other remaining 2009 QB club meeting will be Thursday, Nov. 12, also from 12-1 p.m. in the Apple Room. The cost for admission and lunch is $8.50.

A yearly membership to the QB Club is $40. That amount does NOT include the weekly fee for lunch. QB Club members receive season tickets in a special seating section and admission to the football team's annual postseason awards banquet.

There will be no guest speaker this week, but at most meetings, SU features a guest speaker who is a coach from an area high school football team or another distinguished person.

As in past years, the luncheons will feature the team's weekly Gus Weber Crusader Football Player of the Week. The award is named in honor of the late Gustave Weber, who was Susquehanna's president from 1959 to 1977. A collegiate football standout at Wagner College, Weber was an avid Crusaders Athletics booster who even served as the team's head football coach for the final two games of 1965.

This week's Player of the Week award is shared between sophomore split end Mike Ritter (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) and senior defensive back Tony McIntosh (Avondale, Pa./Avon Grove).

Ritter made a game-high two touchdown catches to help lead Susquehanna to a 21-7 Liberty League win at St. Lawrence University on Oct. 31. He made three total catches in that game for 34 yards. He leads the Crusaders with four TD receptions this year.

McIntosh made seven tackles (four solo) at St. Lawrence and broke up a pass.

Susquehanna Head Coach Steve Briggs and his staff will speak and show a highlight film at every QB Club meeting. SU's Director of Athletics Pam Samuelson and Director of Athletics Communications Robert Healy, III, will also speak. Healy will give a weekly synopsis of what's happening around Crusaders Athletics. Ritter and McIntosh will also speak this week.
