Jim Grose was appointed as Susquehanna University's head men's
and women's rowing coach in August 2008. Grose had been an
assistant coach with SU rowing since 2004.
He has competed in, coached in and been an administrator for the
Central Pennsylvania Rowing Association. Grose's membership in the
association ran from 2002 to 2007. In 2007, he was the vice
president of the association's board of directors. At various
times, he was also the chairman of the association's Learn to Row
and equipment committees. He is a member of USRowing and holds a
Level I Coaching Certificate from that organization.
"Coach Grose has been a significant contributor to our rowing
programs and the growth of our student-athletes," said Susquehanna
Director of Athletics Pam Samuelson. "His continued involvement
with the teams is very exciting as those programs try to take
another step forward to even higher levels of success."
Grose is currently a professional land surveyor and a sewage
enforcement officer for both the Snyder County Sewage Code
Enforcement Committee and the Central Keystone Council of
Governments, in addition to various other municipalities in Snyder
and Union counties.
Men's and women's rowing are club, or non-varsity, sports teams at
Susquehanna. They have enjoyed much success in the past and
regularly compete against other colleges and universities.
