Men’s Golf Wrap-Up Play at Mid-Atlantic Region Invitational
HERSHEY, Pa. – Susquehanna’s men’s golf team
wrapped-up competition at the two-day Mid-Atlantic Regional
Invitational on Monday afternoon and earned a 12th-place
finish in the 15-team field.
The Crusaders finished with a team score of 669 over the two days.
SU shot a 340 on day one and rebounded to shoot 329 on the final
day of competition.
Freshman Stephen Welkie (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central
Catholic) led Susquehanna with a two-day score of 669 to
tie for 26th overall out of the 77 golfers. He shot a
team-best 80 on the second day of the invitational.
Teammate John Jaques (Easton, Pa./Easton
Area) was just two shots behind him with a two-day score
of 164 to tie for 36th. Adam Puskar (Whitehall,
Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) shot a 172 to finish tied
for 61st and Kevin Willett (Ridgewood,
N.J./Ridgewood) and Teague Emery (Earlville,
Pa./Coventry Christian) both shot a 175 to tie for
66th overall.
Next match: Saturday, April 7 at Elizabethtown – 12
p.m.
