Men’s Golf Stands in Fourth After Day One at Glenmaura Invite

GLENMAURA, Pa. – The Susquehanna men’s golf team stands in fourth place after day one of the Glenmaura National College Invitational.

The Crusaders shot 308 as a team to stand just five shots behind the overall lead, Muhlenberg. Only nine shots separate the top five teams in the 11-team field.

Freshman Stephen Welkie (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) finished the day tied for first overall with his score of 71. He shot a 37 on the front nine before putting together a 34 over the final nine holes.

Junior John Jaques (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) ended round one with a 77 to earn a tie for 14th overall.

The Invite concludes on Monday.
