Seventh Place Finish for SU Men

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – The Susquehanna men’s golf team
wrapped up competition at the two-day McDaniel Spring Invite and
finished seventh overall out of the 18 squads at the event.
The Crusaders combined for a two-day score of 637 (+9) on the par
71 course. SU shot a 318 on Saturday and shot just one shot off
that pace on Sunday with a score of 319.
Stephen Welkie (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central
Catholic) boasted a top-five finish as his two-day score
of 151 (74, 77) put him in a two-way tie for fifth.
Also in the top 20 was John Jaques (Easton, Pa./Easton
Area), who shot a 156 (80, 76) to finish tied for
19th. Donny DeRemer (Shavertown, Pa./Holy
Redeemer) was 28th after shooting a 79 on day
one and an 80 on the final day.
Kevin Phelan (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte County Day
School) shot a 171 (85, 86) and Ryan Bruvik
(Skillman, N.J./The Hun School) shot a 174 (86, 88).
The Crusaders are back in action on April 15-16 at the Glenmaura
Invitational.
