HERSEHEY, Pa. – The Susquehanna men’s golf team finished the four-round Empire 8 Championships by taking home sixth overall with a four-round total of 1,315.
St. John Fisher took home the overall total with a score of 1,194, followed by Elmira (1,247), Moravian (1,253), Scranton (1,273), Stevens Institute of Technology (1,304), Nazareth (1,366) and Utica (1,426).
Senior John Jacques (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) was the Crusaders’ top finisher, taking home 18th in the 36 golfer field with a four-round total of 323. During these final two rounds, he shot an 80 followed by an 89 on Sunday.
Kevin Phelan (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte County Day School) was 26th with a total score of 338. He shot an 85 on Saturday followed by an 88 on Sunday afternoon. Kevin Willett (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) was the final competitor and he finished the championship by shooting a 341 with an 87 on Saturday followed by an 89 on the final round.
