MOOSIC, Pa. – The Susquehanna men’s golf team jumped from fifth to third place on day two of the Glenmaura National College Invitational.
The Crusaders earned third place after a two-day team score of 639 (+71). McDaniel College won the team title with its two-day score of 623 (+55) and was followed by Scranton in second place (627).
Sophomore Daniel Wilson (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) shot a 76 on Monday and placed sixth overall with his two-day score of 156 (80, 76). Stephen Welkie (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) was just one shot behind with his score of 157 (73, 84) to tie for seventh overall in the 57-golfer field.
Anthony Canarie (South Portland, Maine/South Portland) shot a 163 (82, 81) while Kevin Phelan (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte County Day School) and Dylan Gladd (Rensselaer, N.Y./Columbia) both shot 171 on the par 71, 6308-yard course.
The Crusaders return to action on April 18-19 at the Empire 8 Championship in Hershey, Pa.
