Tenth-Place Finish for Men’s Golf

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Susquehanna men's golf team earned a 10th-place finish at Monday's Muhlenberg Invitational. The Crusaders were one of 23 teams that competed at the event, 22 of which finished all 18 holes.

Messiah won the team title by six strokes, shooting a 297 (+17) on the par 70, 6415-yard Lehigh Country Club course. SU shot a 318 (+38).

The Crusaders' top three performers finished within one stroke of each other. Matthew Schaffner (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia) shot a 78 (+8) to tie for 25th and one stroke behind him were Dylann Gladd (Rensselaer, N.Y./Columbia) and William McCafferty (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell), who both shot a 79 to tie for 33rd in the 114-golfer field.

Daniel Wilson (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) shot an 82 (+12) and Steven Jumper (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) was just six strokes behind (88, +18).

Susquehanna next competes Oct. 4-5 at the Mason Dixon Collegiate Classic.
