Men’s Golf Wins Home Invitational

SELISNGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna men's golf team won its annual SU Fall Invitational on Monday afternoon at Susquehanna Valley Country Club.

SU's "Orange" team won with a team score of 317 (+37) on the par 70, 3621-yard course. The Crusaders' Maroon team was fourth with a 333. Keystone was second (322), followed by Penn College (332) and Hood in fifth (339).

Freshman William McCafferty (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) won the individual title with a 75 (+5) and teammate Kevin Phelan (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte County Day School) took second, just one shot behind McCafferty.

Daniel Wilson (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) captured sixth place (79) and Dylan Gladd (Rensselaer, N.Y./Columbia) and Ryan Bruvik (Skillman, N.J./The Hun School) were 10th and 11th, respectively, with scores of 81 and 82. Matthew Schaffner (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia) and Donny DeRemer (Shavertown, Pa./Holy Redeemer) tied for 14th with a score of 84 and Timothy Unkles' (Bernardsville, N.J./Bernards) score of 85 placed him 16th.

Also earning top-20 spots were Aung Pyae Zone Khant (Yangon, Myanmar/Yangon International School) (88) and Steven Jumper (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) (90).

Monday's invite marked the final event of the fall season for the Crusaders.
