SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The weather almost held off, but with 9:16 to go in Tuesday's men's lacrosse game, the skies opened up but Susquehanna and Hood waited out a 90-minute lightning delay. Ultimately, the Crusaders prevailed 10-6 before the game was called with 2:12 to play.

Billy Spack (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) recorded a hat trick to lead the Crusaders (10-5) in scoring as the team recorded the first 10-win season in program history. Tim Pastore (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) chipped in two goals and two assists for a game-high four points, despite playing only in the second half.

Goalie Will Torrence (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) played the entire game and recorded 12 saves with seven coming in the first half.

Three different SU players combined to score the only three goals of the first quarter, including Luke Delavan's (Madison, N.J./Madison) score with 1:08 remaining to make it 3-0.

Both teams netted goals in the second quarter as the Crusaders maintained a three-goal advantage (4-1) at the midway point of the game.

The third quarter saw a scoring outburst, with a combined eight goals, four from each squad. Spack scored the period's first goal, and his third of the game, while Austen Lein (New Vernon, N.J/Madison) netted the final goal of the quarter that made it an 8-5 SU lead.

Hood's Scott Thompson scored with 10:16 left in the fourth quarter, exactly one minute before the game was delayed.

After waiting out the first storm, the teams took the field and the Crusaders proceeded to score two quick goals, with one from Pastore and the final one from Dustin Breakey (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley), before the game was called for the second and final time due to another storm moving through the area.

Next game: Saturday, April 30 vs. USMMA (Senior Day) – 3:30 p.m.
