A Dozen Fresh Faces for SU Men’s Lacrosse

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – While the Susquehanna University men's lacrosse team lost only four players to graduation last year, head coach Stewart Moan has brought in a class of 12 freshmen in an effort to fill openings and create competition for the other starting spots, while at also providing the Crusaders with depth at all the crucial positions.

"Although we did not lose a lot of players, we did lose a First-Team All-Conference defenseman in Jimmy Warburton and three other seniors who were also starters and major players for our program," Moan said. "They were critical to our success last year when we won a program-best 11 games. We went into the recruiting process believing we needed to bring in a strong and talented group of 10-12 players to continue the development and be contenders in the competitive Landmark Conference.

"I am very excited about the upgrade in talent and athleticism that this class possesses," he continued. "Many of these men were multi-sport athletes in high school and I believe the athleticism, stick skills and lacrosse knowledge that our freshmen bring with them will increase the competitive nature of our team."

Susquehanna qualified for the Landmark Conference tournament for the first time in the school's history last season. The Crusaders now have their sights set on advancing to the championship game.
