Men's Lax Slated to Finish Fourth in Preseason Poll
MADISON, N.J. – The Susquehanna men’s lacrosse team
was selected to finish fourth in the Landmark Conference Preseason
Poll, released on Monday. Goucher was picked to finish first,
followed by Scranton and Catholic ahead of SU.
The Crusaders are coming off a program-best 11-win season and look
to make more noise in the conference this spring. SU lost just four
players from that 2011 team and return All-Conference goalie
Jordan Daney (Wynnewood, Pal/Lower Merion) and
former Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year Marcus
Cheatham (Reisterstown, Md./Loyola). In addition, last
year’s top two scorers – Luke Delavan (Madison,
N.J./Madison) and Dustin Breakey (Mechanicsburg,
Pa./Cumberland Valley) – are back for SU.
The Crusaders won 11 games last spring and earned a spot in the
postseason tournament for the first time in program history. They
enjoyed a 6-1 mark at home and won six of their final seven
games.
This year, the season opens up on Feb. 26 with a 1 p.m. game at
Lycoming.
