SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Softball and men’s lacrosse are represented in this week’s SAAC Super Crusader Awards as freshman pitcher Alison Cullen (Branchburg, N.J. / Immaculata) and senior attack Luke Delavan (Madison, N.J. / Madison) have been honored for the week ending April 15.
Cullen was named the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the week for the first time in her career following a 2-0 week in the circle. In a 3-2 victory over Wilkes, she hurled all seven innings, scattering seven hits while striking out a pair. At Juniata, Cullen pitched a 3-0 shutout, giving up only four hits and punching out three Eagles.
For the week, she pitched 14 innings with five strikeouts and a 2.00 ERA. She helped the Crusaders to a 4-0 record over that span and with the win over Juniata on Saturday, SU gained sole possession of first place in the conference.
This season she is 6-2 with a team-best 2.88 ERA with four complete games and 19 strike outs in 48.2 innings.
Delavan helped his squad to a 2-0 record last week. Against Marywood (W, 10-8), he scored four goals on 13 shots, including the go-ahead goal with 1:15 remaining in the contest.
On Senior Day, he scored two goals on seven shots and had one assist and five ground balls in the 12-9 victory over conference foe Scranton.
For the week, he scored six goals on 20 shots, had one assist and five ground balls. This season, he leads the team with 30 goals and has nine helpers for 39 points. Delavan has fired off 102 shots, picked up 19 ground balls and has three game winning goals to his credit.
