Lein Named Landmark Offensive Player of the Week

TOWSON, Md. – After tallying 10 points in two wins last week, Susquehanna men’s lacrosse junior attack Austen Lein (New Vernon, N.J. / Madison) has been named the Landmark Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending March 24.

Lein led the Crusaders (7-3, 2-0) to a pair of home victories against Messiah (W, 10-4) and Landmark Conference opponent Merchant Marine (W, 10-5).  SU has now won three contests in a row and three straight over the Mariners.

Against Messiah on Wednesday evening, he scored three goals and had two assists for five points. He fired off five shots and grabbed one ground ball. Versus Merchant Marine on Saturday, Lein notched two goals on seven shots and added three assists and two ground balls.

In 2013, Lein has started all 10 games and leads the squad in goals (20), assists (15) and points (35). He has two game-winning goals and three man-up scores and has registered 22 ground balls and two caused turnovers. Lein has a .377 shot percentage and a .660 shots-on-goal percentage.

Lein and the Crusaders travel to conference foe Goucher on Friday at 4 p.m.
