Lein Named USILA All-America Honorable Mention

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna senior men’s lacrosse attack Austen Lein (New Vernon, N.J./Madison) has been named a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III All-America honorable mention player.

This marks the second-straight year the team has boasted an All-American as Marcus Cheatham ’13 earned All-America status in 2013. Lein is also just the second All-American in program history and was one of only three Landmark Conference men’s lacrosse players to earn All-America recognition this season.

Lein was the 2014 Landmark Conference Player of the Year and capped off his four-year career with his second All-Conference selection.

This season, Lein started all 19 games and led the team in goals (29), assists (35) and points (64). He had two game-winning goals to his credit to go along with 32 ground balls and a team-leading 101 shots. Lein’s 35 assists and 64 points this spring were the most in a single season in program history.

Lein and the Crusaders captured their second-straight Landmark Conference title this season to earn a repeat trip to the NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Tournament. SU finished the 2014 season with 11 victories, just one shy of tying the program record set in 2013.
