Woodruff, Stellato Honored by SAAC

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – A pair of student-athletes was honored on Thursday as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee’s (SAAC) Super Crusaders for the week ending Oct. 31. Senior cross country runner Alycia Woodruff (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) and junior men’s soccer player Joey Stellato (Convent Station, N.J./Morristown) earned their second Super Crusader honors of the fall.

Woodruff capped off a championship week by being named the Landmark Conference’s Runner of the Week as well as the Runner of the Year after capturing the individual title at last weekend’s Landmark Championships. Woodruff broke the 6k course record with her time of 23:04.70.

In addition, the SU women captured the team title and will compete in the NCAA Mideast Regionals on Nov. 13 at Slippery Rock.

Stellato also had a solid week for the Crusaders. He netted the game winner against Drew last weekend to propel his team to the No. 1 seed in the Landmark Conference. Like Woodruff, he was also named a Landmark Conference Player of the Week.

This season, Stellato has started all 17 games in which he has played and leads the team in goals (6), assists (5), points (17) and game-winning goals. All of those numbers are career highs for the forward.
