Several SU Student-Athletes Nationally Ranked in Top 25 Stats

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Several Susquehanna student-athletes in volleyball, men’s soccer and football are nationally ranked in the most recent NCAA Top-25 Division-III individual statistics.

Volleyball senior Kaylee Monga (Rockaway, N.J. / Morris Knolls) is sixth in blocks per set with 1.37 bps. In 76 sets this season, she has 90 block assists and 14 block solos for 104 total blocks.

Teammate Hayley Dunkel (Pottsville, Pa. /Pottsville Area) follows at 15th with 1.22 blocks per set. Dunkel has played 78 sets this year and has totaled 95 blocks (84 ba, 11 bs).

Men’s soccer goalkeeper Matt Salsman (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area) is ninth in goals against average, holding a .388 gaa. In 10 matches this year, Salsman has played every minute and allowed only four goals. He is also tied for 22nd in save percentage, recording 27 saves for a .871 mark.

Football linebacker/safety Jack McCarty (Westminster, Md. / South Carroll) is tied for 13th in fumble recoveries per game with 0.60 frpg. In five games this year, he has three fumble recoveries with 21 return yards and a touchdown.

McCarty is also tied for 18th with .80 interceptions per game. He has four picks through five games this fall, including a three-interception game against Gettysburg.
