Men’s Soccer Picked Second in Landmark Conference Preseason Poll

TOWSON, Md. –The two-time defending Landmark Conference champion Susquehanna men's soccer team has been picked second in the 2014 Landmark Conference Preseason Poll, released Tuesday morning.

The Catholic University of America was voted first with 72 points (five first-place votes), followed by the Crusaders with 64 points and three first-place votes. The poll was rounded out by Drew (55 points; one first-place vote), first-year conference member Elizabethtown (44), Scranton (35), USMMA (30), Juniata (26), Goucher (16) and Moravian (9).

Two of SU's top-five point leaders from a year ago return in 2014 in seniors Joe Deluca (Freehold, N.J./St. John Vianney) and David Trank (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham). Trank was a First-Team All-Conference player last season and led the conference with eight assists.

Susquehanna opens its season Aug. 29-30 at the Drew Fall Festival.
