MADISON, N.J. - The Susquehanna men's soccer team (1-1) lost 2-0 to SUNY Geneseo in its final game of the Drew Fall Festival on Saturday.
The Geneseo Knights (1-1) broke the scoreless tie in the 55th minute on a converted penalty kick by Jaisen Clark after a Susquehanna foul in the box and added an insurance goal in the closing moments of the contest, scoring off a Matt D'Amico header in the 87th minute.
The Crusaders had the first opportunities of the game with shots from seniors Gannon Keller (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area / Bloomsburg) and David Trank (Mendham, N.J. / West Morris Mendham) in 13th and 17th minutes, respectively. The team did not record another shot on goal in the first half and had one more in the remainder of the game. Geneseo had eight shots in the contest, three of which were on goal.
SU edged the Knights in corners four to three. Keeper Zach Zoller (Wall Township, N.J./Wall) made one save, which came in the 30th minute.
The Crusaders return to action on Sept. 3 when they host Lycoming College in the annual Battle of the Boot at 7:00 p.m.
