SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna men and women's soccer players, Ryan Cronin (Andover, N.J./Newton) and Cassie Coombs (Whitehouse Station, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) have been named the SAAC/Pepsi Super Crusaders for the week ending September 6.
Cronin played in all three of the men's soccer games this past week. He tallied two goals for four points. Both goals were game winners, including his score in overtime against Ursinus on Sunday. He made two goals on three shots, all of which were on goal.
SU men's soccer opened the season with a 2-1-0 week with wins at Elmira and home against Ursinus.
Coombs started both games for the women's soccer team this past week. She scored on goal in each competition for a four-point week. She took eight shots over the two games, five of which were on goal, for a .625 shot on goal percentage. She had the game winner in a 3-0 win at Lycoming.
Crusader women's soccer went 1-0-1 on the week with a win at Lycoming and a 2-2 tie against PSU Harrisburg.
The men's soccer team continues competition at Lycoming on Wednesday, Sept. 9 while the women's soccer team hosts No. 15 Misericordia on Wednesday, September 9 at 7 p.m.
