SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The men's soccer team hosted the Greyhounds of Moravian College on Saturday and won 1-0.
Susquehanna (7-5-2, 2-1-2) scored the only goal of the game early on in the first half. Jeremy Motsko netted his second goal of the season at the 6:38 mark when he headed the ball into the net off of a corner kick by Pedro Souza. Neither team scored over the remainder of the contest.
The last chance for the Crusaders to score an insurance goal came at the 88:43 mark when a shot by Souza was blocked. The Greyhound's last chance to tie the game came six minutes before Souza's shot when Rocky Fatuova took a shot that sailed wide.
SU goalie Augusto Lima earned the shutout with five saves on five shots on goal. The Crusaders spread their offense out with Nick Fecci leading with two shots while six other players took one shot each.
"The win put us back in contention for playoffs," head coach Jim Findlay said. "We were able to score early and then work very hard defensively to limit Moravian's scoring chances to ultimately keep them off the board."
The Crusaders return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 21 when they host Juniata at 7:00pm.
