SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna men's soccer player Jeremy Motsko and volleyball player Erin Byrne have been named SAAC/Pepsi Super Crusaders for the week ending October 18.
Motsko started both of the Crusaders' games this week as the team finished 1-1. He scored the game winning goal in a 1-0 conference win against Moravian on his only shot of the game. He also helped to hold Moravian to five shots on goal in the shutout win. Against Gettysburg, SU out-shot the Bullets 19-13 while holding them to only four shots on goal.
The Crusaders are 7-5-2 on the season with a 2-1-2 mark in Landmark Conference play. They return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 21 when they host Juniata at 7:00 p.m.
Byrne started all three of SU's matches as the team went 3-0 on the week. She had at least nine kills in each match and with her 11th against Frostburg State she reached the 1,000 kill mark, making her eighth player in SU history to do so. She also had 29 digs and seven total blocks. Byrne had a double-double in the 3-0 win versus Scranton (11 kills, 11 digs).
The volleyball team is 19-8 overall and 6-1 in conference play. The Crusaders return to action at home on Wednesday Oct. 21 against PSU-Altoona. The match starts at 7:30 p.m.
