SCRANTON, Pa. – The No. 3 seed Susquehanna men's soccer team traveled to No. 2 seed University of Scranton (9-6-2) to compete in a Landmark Conference semifinal and lost 2-0.
In the first half, SU (9-7-2) had the slight upper hand on offense, outshooting the Royals 4-3. The team put two of those shots on goal while holding the Royals to zero shots on goal. However, it would not be enough as the Royals turned it around and proceeded to score two goals in the second half to secure the victory.
The game remained scoreless through halftime until the 55th minute when Scranton ended the shutout. The game was then put out of SU's reach when Scranton scored again at the 74:14 minute mark. The Crusaders could not counter and took their last shot at 66:22 when a shot by Pedro Souza went wide.
SU was led in shots by Jake Heyser who tallied two shots, one on goal. Five other Crusaders totaled one shot a piece to round out the seven total shots. Goalie Augusto Lima faced four shots on goal and made two saves.
The Crusaders ended the season 9-7-2 with a 4-2-2 mark in Landmark Conference play.
