Men’s Soccer Falls in Overtime

QUICK STORY: The Susquehanna men's soccer team took the Knights of Arcadia University into overtime but it was not enough as SU lost 3-2 at home Saturday.

FIRST HALF: Arcadia scored the first goal of the game at the 21:14 mark to take a 1-0 lead. The River Hawks answered with a goal of their own 10 minutes later when Ryan Cronin found the net off of a Max Maidenberg corner kick. Unfortunately, the Knights took a 2-1 lead three minutes later on a goal from Bradley McKim.

SECOND HALF: Susquehanna scored the only goal of the second half when Maidenberg scored on an assist from Eric Dempsey to force overtime.

OVERTIME: Two minutes into overtime, Arcadia's Peter Supinski scored the unassisted game-winner.

IN THE BOXSCORE: Cronin, Nick Fecci and Maidenberg led SU in shots with three each with Cronin and Maidenberg scoring a goal a piece. Freshman goalie Matt Ellingworth earned his first start of his career and made five saves on eight shots on goal.

WHAT'S NEXT? The River Hawks remain at home for the second game of a three-game home stand as they host Wilkes on Wednesday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m.
