River Hawks Men’s Soccer Wins Second-Straight

THE QUICK STORY: The Susquehanna men's soccer team won its second-straight game Saturday with a 1-0 home win over The Catholic University of America.

RECORDS: The River Hawks improve to 3-5-1 with a 1-0 mark in the Landmark Conference while the Cardinals drop to 4-5-0 and 0-1. This is the first time SU has defeated Catholic since the 2012 squad won 1-0.

THE GOAL: Nick Fecci nailed a sliding shot into the left portion of the goal off a pass from Eric Dempsey just over one minute into the game for the only goal of the game.

LAST CHANCE: Catholic had its last chance to send the game into overtime at the 81:35 mark when Nick Joesten took a shot that was saved by SU's freshman goalie Matt Ellingworth.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE: Ellingworth earned his second win and shutout of the year while making eight saves in 90 minutes of work. Fecci led SU in shots with three while Jake Heyser added two and four other players made up the remainder of SU's nine shots with one each.
