SHORT STORY: The Susquehanna men's soccer team defeated the Rangers of Drew University 2-1 in overtime on Saturday afternoon. Colin Keyes scored the game-winner with 43 seconds remaining in overtime.
DID YOU KNOW? This is Susquehanna's fifth overtime game of the season. The River Hawks are 1-2-2 in overtime games.
THE RECORDS: Susquehanna improves to 6-7-2 overall with a 3-1-1 mark in Landmark Conference action. Drew is now 8-3-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the Landmark.
FIRST HALF: The River Hawks scored the first goal of the game when Nick Fecci scored on a one-on-one with the goalie after Jake Heyser's shot was deflected back. SU led 1-0 for the remainder of the first half.
SECOND HALF: The Rangers scored the only goal of the second half when Andy Imoh scored an unassisted goal at the 48:13 mark, tying the game at one.
LAST CHANCE: Susquehanna took its last shot at the 81:33 mark when Kai Davies' shot sailed high. Drew's last chance shot to prevent overtime was just under 10 minutes into the second half when Benjamin Audi's shot was saved by SU goalie Matt Ellingworth.
OVERTIME: The Rangers took the first shot of overtime but it was blocked and Susquehanna followed with a shot a minute later and it was saved. Both teams managed one more shot with SU's finding the back of the net off of the foot of Keyes.
INSIDE THE BOXSCRORE: The River Hawks trailed the Rangers in shots (11-9) and corner kicks (7-6) while Ellingworth faced three shots on goal and made two saves in his 99:17 minutes of work. Fecci led SU in shots with three while six other players tallied the remaining six shots.
WHAT'S NEXT? Susquehanna returns home on Saturday, October 22 when the team hosts Elizabethtown at 3:30 p.m.
