Men’s Soccer Ends Regular Season with a Tie

QUICK STORY: The Susquehanna men's soccer team ended its regular season with a 1-1 double overtime tie at Moravian College on Saturday.

THIS MEANS THAT…SU finished as the No. 4 seed in the Landmark Conference and will travel to No. 1 Elizabethtown on Wednesday, November 2 for a 7:00 p.m. semifinal game.

RECORDS: The River Hawks finished the regular season with a 6-7-5 overall record with a 3-1-3 mark in Landmark Conference action. Moravian is 8-4-4, 2-2-3.

DID YOU KNOW? This is Susquehanna's third consecutive tie and fifth overall this season.

THE GOALS: Moravian scored the first goal of the game in the second half at the 81:10 mark off of a penalty kick. SU answered six minutes later with a goal of its own when Elias George scored off of a foul kick from Jake Heyser.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE: The Greyhounds out-shot the River Hawks 25-11 with eight of the 25 coming in overtime. SU totaled four corner kicks to Moravian's seven.

Maxfield Reed led SU in shots with three and Thomas Burke tallying two. Six other players combined to account for the remainder of Susquehanna's shots. Goalie Matt Ellingworth made 11 saves – a career high – in his 110 minutes of work.
