Thomas Burke Named Defensive Player of the Week

Junior defender Thomas Burke assisted on one game-winning goal and scored another leading the Susquehanna University Men's Soccer team to a 2-0 week and has been recognized as the Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Burke sent a corner kick into the goal mouth area for a header by Patrick Bresney for the first goal of the game in a 2-0 win over Juniata in a mid-week contest for his first point of the week.

Over the weekend, Burke sent a perfect free kick directly into the goal for the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win for the River Hawks over Scranton as the team finished the week with two shutout victories.

Susquehanna will face Gettysburg Tuesday night in a non-conference game and return to Landmark Conference play Saturday at Drew University.
