Session Three Results
LANCASTER, Pa. – Susquehanna's swim teams finished competition at the two-day Franklin & Marshall Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The men finished fifth out of the eight teams with 363 points while the women were sixth in their 10-team field with 268.5 points.
The day opened with the women's 200 back in which Michelle Delgado (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) finished seventh (2:15.06) to earn 12 points.
Devin Lessard (Chestertown, Md./Queen Anne's County) then won the 200 butterfly with her time of 2:07.18 to account for her team's sole first-place finish of the day. For the weekend, Lessard made three NCAA b-cuts (400 IM, 200 fly, 1650 free) and set two schools records (400 IM, 1000 free during the mile).
The 400 free relay team of Avanti Banks (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg), Cole, Annie Bruxelles (Hockessin, Del./Sasnford School) and Kyle Seaman (Moreland Hills, Ohio/Orange) finished in 3:53.73, good for 10th before the women ended the meet with the 1650 free. In that event, freshman Dana Pontecorvo (New Providence, N.J./Mount St. Mary Academy) earned 13 points with a sixth-place finish (18:17.10).
In the first men's event of the morning, the 200 back, freshman Tyler Patrick (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) was SU's top finisher, placing 13th with a time of 2:04.49.
Josh Heller (Rockville, Md./Colonel Zadok Magruder) followed that with a third-place swim in the 100 free (47.68), just one second off the race's top time of 46.79 and the third-fastest time in program history.
Cameron Boster (Burke, Va./Robinson Secondary School) earned 14 points thanks to his fifth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:17.31, a PR and the fourth-best time in the SU record books. In the 200 butterfly Chadd Lee (Bloosmburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) took ninth overall thanks to his time of 2:04.42.
In the second-to-last men's event of the meet, the 400 free relay team consisting of Heller, Boster, Nick Boyle (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) and Tyler Long (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) earned seventh (3:18.11).
The meet came to a close with the men's 1650 in which Larry Abel (Westport, Conn./Staples) was ninth with a time of 17:57.84.
The teams are off from competition until they spend winter break in Tampa, Fla.
