Susquehanna Men’s Swimming and Diving Travels to USMMA Invite

LONG ISLAND, N.Y. – The Susquehanna men's swimming and diving team traveled to Long Island, N.Y. to compete in USMMA's Memorial Invitational Saturday. SU was one of six teams competing.

In the 200 yard medley relay, the team of Jack Olson, Danny Csakai, Eric Lawrence and Duncan Frazier finished second with a time of 1:41.79.

In the 500 yard freestyle, Matthew Giroux set a personal record (PR) and came in third (5:10.94) while Lawrence finished fourth in the 200 yard IM with his time of 2:02.97.

Jourdan Stewart earned second in the field of 51 in the 100 yard freestyle with his time of 50.06 and he finished fourth in the 200 yard butterfly (2:02.61). Lawrence and Olson came in second and third in the 100 yard backstroke with respective times of 55.81 and 57.57.

In the 100 breaststroke, Csakai (1:03.25) came in third, only two seconds behind the first place finisher.

SU took fourth and fifth – out of 65 -- in the 50 yard freestyle when Stewart and Csakai posted times of 22.77 and 22.83. Csakai's time was a PR.

Olson and Ryan Nathan finished third and fourth in the 200 yard backstroke with their times of 2:06.78 and 2:13.72 while Lawrence came in second in the 400 yard IM (4:28.01) and second, with a PR, in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:21.14).

The Crusaders had seven swimmers in the 200 yard freestyle and the top finisher was Stewart, who took third with his time of 1:53.04. Stewart also placed third in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 54.37, finishing less than a second behind the first place winner.

Jake Skucaton placed sixth in the three meter dive with a score of 134.60.

In the last event of the day – 400 yard freestyle relay – the team of Stewart, Csakai, Ryan Rizzuto and Frazier finished second with their time of 3:23.13.

SU returns to action when the team travels to Gettysburg and the diving team travels to the Bomber Invitational. Both are on Dec. 4 and start at 4:00 p.m.
