SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna men's swimming and diving celebrated Senior Day on Saturday but lost 150.5-111.5 to Franklin & Marshall College.
In the first event of the day, the 200 yard medley relay, the Crusader team of Eric Lawrence, Danny Csakai, Duncan Frazier and James Orzolek finished first with a time of 1:38.84, a full three seconds ahead of the second place F&M team.
SU took first and fifth in the 100 yard backstroke when Lawrence finished with a time of 54.98 and Harry Hall finished with a time of 1:02.91. Csakai took first in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:00.63) while Dillon Warr and Nicholas Macdonald-Martell finished fifth (1:06.17) and sixth (1:09.85) respectively.
Ryan Rizzuto and Chang scored points in the 200 yard butterfly with fourth (2:08.37) and fifth (2:09.35) place respective finishes.
Orzolek took first and second in the 100 yard freestyle and the 50 yard freestyles. He finished the 100 free in 48.32 and the 50 free in 22.28. Crumrine came in third (50.02) in the 100 yard freestyle while Frazier scored points by finishing fifth (23.43) in the 50 yard freestyle.
Lawrence, Matthew Lustberg and Ryan Prater came in second, fourth and sixth respectively in the 200 yard backstroke with times of 2:00.21, 2:14.23 and 2:16.60. Prater's time (2:16.60) was a personal record (PR).
In the 200 yard breaststroke, Csakai finished second with a time of 2:21.09 while Warr and Macdonald-Martell came in third (2:22.42) and fifth (2:38.88). Miller, Nathan and Steven McFarland finished second (5:02.86), fourth (5:09.57) and fifth (5:10.81) respectively.
The Crusaders scored points in the 100 yard butterfly when Jourdan Stewart finished third with a time of 55.92 and Hall came in fifth with a time of 58.89. Lawrence took second (2:04.51) in the 200 yard IM while Warr finished fifth (2:11.71).
Susquehanna won the last scored event of the meet when Miller, Csakai, Frazier and Orzolek finished the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:19.25, three seconds ahead of the second place F&M team.
Before the meet, Susquehanna honored nine seniors: Danny Csakai, Julia Doherty, Duncan Frazier, Kelsey Lessard, Nicholas MacDonald-Martell, Connor Mitchell, Jack Olson, Val Stearns and Dillon Warr.
The Crusaders return to action on Friday, Jan. 22 when they host Bloomsburg at 6 pm.
