Men’s Swimming Hosts Division II Bloomsburg

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna men's swimming team hosted Bloomsburg University on Friday night and lost 109-89.

The first event of the night was the 400 yard medley relay in which the Crusaders took fourth, fifth, and sixth. The fourth place team consisted of Eric Lawrence, Danny Csakai, Jourdan Stewart and Duncan Frazier and finished with a time of 3:42.28.

In the 1000 yard freestyle, Matthew Giroux finished second with a time of 10:37.07 while Henry Chang and Matthew Lustburg came in third (10:53.88) and fourth (10:59.90) respectively. Lustburg set a personal record (PR) with his time.

David Miller was the first Crusader to finish in the 200 yard freestyle and he came in third with a time of 1:48.60. Bill Crumrine and Csakai finished fifth (1:50.37) and sixth (1:52.20). In the 50 yard freestyle, James Orzolek came in second, .13 of a second behind the first-place finisher, with his time of 22.21. Connor Mitchell and Connor O'Hagen placed fourth and fifth with their respective times of 23.09 and 23.62.

In the 10th event of the night, the 200 yard IM, SU took fourth, fifth and sixth. Ryan Rizzuto was the fourth-place finisher (2:11.24) while Dillon Warr and Lawrence were fifth (2:12.52) and sixth (2:14.03).

Stewart took second in the 100 yard butterfly with his time of 54.93 which was just over a tenth of a second behind the first place finisher. Harry Hall took fifth (57.86) and Frazier took sixth (57.93).

In the 100 yard freestyle, Susquehanna's top finisher was Miller with his second-place time of 49.63. Mitchell and Rizzuto came in fifth (51.16) and sixth (53.65) respectively. The 100 yard backstroke had Lawrence finishing second (55.35) and Orzolek setting a PR with his third-place finish (56.72).

The Crusaders took the top three spots in the 500 yard freestyle and the 100 yard breaststroke. In the 500 free, Crumrine was first (4:59.72), Ryan Nathan second (5:09.62) and Steven McFarland placed third (5:13.72). In the 100 breast, Csakai finished first with his time of 1:01.51 while Warr and Nicholas Macdonald-Martell were second (1:07.31) and third (1:09.55).

The 200 yard freestyle relay team consisting of Stewart, Mitchell, Frazier and Orzolek finished first with a time of 1:28.90. The second-place team was SU's Jack Olson, Kelly Swider, Sean Murray and Chang (1:38.15) while the third place team was Hall, Nathan, O'Hagan and McFarland with a time of 1:43.88.

The Crusaders return to the pool Saturday, Jan. 30 at Scranton for a 1:00 p.m. meet.
