SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna diver Kyle O'Donnell and field hockey player Emily DiGaetano have been selected as the SAAC High Flyers for the week ending November 6.
O'Donnell scored 318.38 points in the one-meter dive to win easily, scoring 128.78 more points than the second-place finisher from Marywood. His score set a Susquehanna pool record.
The River Hawks won 10 of the 14 events on Saturday to defeat both Marywood and Drew head-to-head. SU scored 194 points to Marywood's 73 and 169 points to Drew's 98.
Susquehanna is now 2-0 overall with a 2-0 mark in the Landmark Conference.
Freshman goalie DiGaetano racked up 16 saves in SU's 1-0 double overtime loss at Elizabethtown in the Landmark Conference championship game. Six of her saves came in the first overtime period alone. In contrast, the two Elizabethtown goalies combined for four saves over the course of the game.
DiGaetano finished the season with a 7-2 record, racking up 54 saves while allowing 21 goals for a GAA of 1.43 and a save percentage of .818.
The River Hawks finished the season with an overall record of 15-4 with a 5-2 mark in Landmark Conference action.
