QUICK STORY: The Susquehanna men' swimming team picked up a win and loss against Messiah and Gettysburg, respectively, at a tri-meet hosted by Gettysburg. Against Gettysburg, SU scored 75 to the Bullets' 185 and against Messiah, the River Hawks scored 159 to the Falcons' 101.
RECORD: The River Hawks are now 3-1 overall with a 2-0 mark in Landmark Conference action.
FIRST-PLACE FINISHES: Eric Lawrence finished first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:01.94.
OTHER NOTABLE FINISHES: The River Hawks started the meet off with a second place finish on the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Lawrence, Shane Sullivan, Jourdan Stewart and James Orzolek finished with a time of 1:40.34. Ryan Nathan and Bryan Colby finished third (10:27.73) and fourth (11:01.51) in the 1000-yard freestyle. David Grove set a personal record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:49.58, good for fifth place. In the 100-yard backstroke, Lawrence and David Miller finished second (55.42) and sixth (57.75). Orzolek and Grove took second and fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with their times of 22:15 and 22.83 respectively, while in the 100-yard freestyle, Orzolek and Grove placed third (48.59) and fourth (50.16). In the 500-yard freestyle, SU took third through sixth-place with Nathan in third (5:06.68), Miller in fourth (5:06.96) and Bill Crumrine in sixth (5:10.40). Stewart and Ryan Rizzuto placed second and third in the 100-yard butterfly with times of 54.35 and 56.41. In the last event of the day, the 400-yard freestyle relay, SU finished second (3:20.00) and sixth (3:37.97). The team of Stewart, Grove, Miller and Orzolek placed second, while Nathan, Crumrine, Sean Murray and Kelly Swider finished sixth.
