The Susquehanna River Hawks Men's Swim Team had a great first session at the 2016 Gettysburg Invitational. The meet is two days, Friday, December 2 through Saturday, December 3, and has three swim sessions. The men's team finished off the first session with 16 season best times and 6 lifetime best times.
Freshman Owen Madden had a great finish in the 200 yard Backstroke with a time of 2:01.33, taking 8th place overall and jumping up to #10 on Susquehanna's Top 10 List in history for that event. Freshman Bryan Colby also scored points for the team in the event, finishing 13th.
Orzolek finished the 100-yard Freestyle in 8th place. Senior Dave Miller and Grove also scored in the event, finishing 15th and 16th respectively.
Lawrence finished 10th in the 200 yard Breaststroke in a time of 2:14.89, moving him to the #7 spot on the Susquehanna Top Ten List in that event. Sullivan also finished well, placing 12th overall, in a time of 2:15.58, moving him to #8 on the Top Ten List.
Despite feeling sick, sophomore Ryan Rizzuto swam very well in the 200 yard Butterfly, finishing 9th with a time of 2:04.28.
Sophomore Ryan Nathan finished the 1650 yard Freestyle in 8th place with a time of 17:40.25, adding points to the men's score.
Finally, the men's 400-yard Freestyle Relay A team finished 6th with a time of 3:15.77. Miller, Grove, Bill Crumrine, and Orzolek made up this relay team.
At the end of the first session, the Susquehanna Men are in 6th place with 135 points, trailing Johns Hopkins University by only 4 points.
