Sullivan Wins Three Events Each in Regular Season Finale

Shane Sullivan won three races and James Orzolek posted a pair of wins and a second place finish for the Susquehanna University Men's Swimming and Diving team Saturday in the regular season finale against Catholic in Washington, DC.

The River Hawks posted six first place finishes and had several close finishes in the final regular season meet of the year as Catholic posted a 169-106 victory.

Sullivan and Orzolek combined with David Grove and Eric Lawrence to win the 200-yard Medley Relay to start the meet. Sullivan added wins in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke races for his trio of wins while Orzolek won the 100 free finishing .26 seconds in front of teammate David Miller. Orzolek was second in the 50-yard free as he missed first by just .44 seconds.

Miller won the 200 free and Bill Crumrine was first in the 500 free for the River Hawks. Owen Madden took second in the 200-yard backstroke by a mere .49 seconds with a time of 2:01.79.

The opening medley relay had a close finish winning by less than a half second and Crumrine's victory in the 500 was by a similar margin of .47 seconds with his winning time of 5:01.37.

The River Hawks are off next week in preparation for the Landmark Conference Championships Feb. 17-19.
