Junior James Orzolek posted first-place finishes in both the 100 and 200-yard freestyle events Friday night to lead the Susquehanna University Men's Swimming and Diving team against Bloomsburg University in the final home meet of the season in the James Garrett Sports Center Pool in Selinsgrove.
Bloomsburg won the meet with a final score of 125.50-79.50.
Orzolek provided the excitement early in the night when he came from behind and finished in a tie for first place in the 200-yard freestyle. Both Orzolek and Alex McCullough from Bloomsburg touched the wall at the same time for the tie at 1:48.60.
Later in the meet, in the 100-yard freestyle, Orzolek took an early lead and finished first with a time of 48.31. He also scored points for the River Hawks as part of the 200-yard freestyle relay. He swam the opening leg of the relay that included Brett Walker, Owen Kelly and David Brady as the team finished second with a time of 1:30.58.
The River Hawks return to action Saturday with a 1 p.m. meet at Goucher.
