David Grove broke another school record and James Orzolek finished second in the 100 freestyle as the Susquehanna University Men's Swimming and Diving team moved up on the final day of competition and captured second place as a team at the Landmark Championships Sunday afternoon in Germantown, Maryland.
Catholic University won the team title with 926.5 points and Susquehanna was second with 624.5. Scranton (585 points) was third followed by Drew (472), Elizabethtown (271), Marywood (221) and Goucher (140).
Grove followed up his record-breaking Saturday with another record Sunday as he swam to a first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:53.96. Teammate Owen Madden was close behind with a second-place time of 1:55.14.
Orzolek captured second place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 46.54 and Brett Walker also scored points for the River Hawks in the event with a fourth place finish.
Grove, Walker and Orzolek teamed with David Brady to place second in the final event of the meet with a time of 3:10.39 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Shane Sullivan scored points for Susquehanna on the final day with a fourth place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke while Owen Kelly and Brandon Heese placed sixth and eight respectively in the 1,650-yard freestyle and the duo of Ryan Rizzuto and Luke Henry both hit the podium in the 200-yard butterfly as they finished sixth and seventh and within .11 seconds of each other.
