Men's Tennis Drops First Match of the Season
ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. — The Susquehanna University
men’s tennis team dropped its first and only match of the
fall season to St. Mary’s College, 5-4, on Oct. 9
The Crusaders finish up their fall season with a 5-1 record.
First-flight singles was won by sophomore Michael Hickey
(Yarmouth, Maine/Yarmouth) with a three-sets victory, 2-6,
6-2, 6-3. Fellow sophomore Richard Fitzsimmons (Brielle,
N.J./Loomis Chafee) also won in three-sets from
second-flight, 7-6, 0-6, 6-3
Sophomore Mats Haaland (Brunswick,
Maine/Brunswick) swept his fourth-flight opponent,
6-2-6-2, while junior Grant Uber (Biglerville,
Pa./Biglerville) defeated the sixth-flight opposition,
7-5, 7-5.
SU will return to action in the spring for the second half of its
season.
