Tennis Drops Pair of Matches to Scranton

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna’s men’s and women’s tennis both lost to Landmark Conference opponent Scranton on Saturday. In a pre-game ceremony, eight senior members were honored for Senior Day.

The men’s squad (3-11, 2-4) won only one match in singles competition. In the six spot, senior Matthew Quadrini (Escondido, Calif. / Brunswick [Maine]) won 6-1, 6-4.

In doubles action, the combination of seniors Alec Green (Media, Pa. / Strath Haven) and Grant Uber (Biglerville, Pa. /Biglerville) defeated their opponents 9-7.

On the women’s side, the Crusaders (8-5, 3-2) earned two wins in singles competition. Sophomore Jessica Klinger (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey) was victorious at number three, winning 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. Freshman Brielle Ferlauto (Neshanic Station, N.J. / Somerville) picked up a win at number six, winning 6-0, 7-6 (7-5).

The duo of junior Abby Hess (Hughesville, Pa. / Hughesville) and freshman Shelby O’Riley (Ware, Mass. / Quabbin Regional) won at the one spot 8-6 in doubles action.

SU hosts Elizabethtown for a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday, April 18 at 3:00 p.m.
