The Week Ahead in SU Sports

Week of: March 25-31

Tennis: Both teams (Men: 4-7, 1-1, Women: 9-0, 1-0) are playing at Catholic (Men: 8-4, 1-1, Women: 9-2, 1-0) on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.

Last Sunday against Drew, the women won 7-2 over the Rangers and the men defeated Merchant Marine on Saturday 6-3.

Baseball: The Crusaders (8-10, 2-1) are scheduled to host Albright (7-5) on Tuesday at 4 p.m. and Landmark Conference opponent Moravian (10-7, 2-1) on Friday and Saturday. Live stats can be found here.

Last weekend, SU played PSU-Berks and Muhlenberg and went 3-1 on the road trip. Senior Brian Wendig (West Chester, Pa. / Malvern Prep) earned his first win since May 1, 2011 against the Mules.

Softball: SU (12-4) hosts Catholic (9-5) on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in what will mark the team’s home opener. Live stats can be found here.

Last weekend, the Crusaders traveled to New Jersey to play Kean and No. 1 Montclair State. Kathryn Gilbert (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) went 4-for-6 with three RBI against Kean on Saturday.

Women’s Lacrosse: The currently-ranked No. 13 Crusaders (9-0) host Drew (4-4) for their first conference game on Thursday at 6 p.m. Live stats can be found here.

Last week, the Crusaders defeated Lycoming and McDaniel as Emma Ehler (Chatham, N.J. / Chatham) tallied 10 goals in the two victories.

Last week, SU defeated Messiah and Merchant Marine as Austen Lein (New Vernon, N.J. / Madison) tallied 10 points in the victories.

Track & Field: The teams host the Crusader Outdoor Classic on March 30 beginning at 10 a.m.

The Crusaders are coming off their first outdoor meet of the season last Saturday at the Juniata Spring Invitational where they combined for 12 first-place finishes.
