Men’s Tennis Opens Fall Season with Win

QUICK STORY: The Susquehanna men's tennis team defeated Lycoming College 8-1 at home on Wednesday afternoon.

THE RECORDS: Susquehanna opens its season 1-0 while Lycoming drops to 1-2.

3-0 DOUBLES: The River Hawks took a 3-0 lead after the completion of doubles. The number one doubles team of Ben Ornstein and Ryan Seibert won 8-3. Alexander Dove and Alexander Cocolas defeated their opponents 8-1 at number two doubles while the number three doubles team (Nicholas Meale and Ashton Collins) won 8-2.

SINGLES ACTION: Ornstein won 6-1, 7-5 in the number one singles spot while Cocolas defeated his opponent 6-2, 6-2 at number three. Seibert, playing in the number four slot, won 6-1, 6-3, while Meale and Collins defeated their opponents in the number five (6-1, 6-0) and six (6-4, 6-1) positions, respectively.

FOR LYCOMING: The Warriors won their only point in singles action when Rob Smith defeated Dove 6-0, 4-6, 10-8 at number two singles.

WHAT'S NEXT? The River Hawks hit the road on Saturday and Sunday, September 17-18, for the King's College Invitational.
