Men’s, Women’s Track & Field Teams Receive Regional Recognition
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Susquehanna’s men’s and
women’s track & field teams, along with several
individual athletes, have moved into the USTFCCA’s regional
rankings.
The men’s team is ranked sixth overall in the Mideast Region
with several athletes and two relay teams ranked in the top seven
in their respective events, as well. Senior Ian Quinlan
(Eagle View, Pa./Methacton/Lehigh) remains the top ranked
male runner in the 5k with his time of 14:44.04.
The DMR team, consisting of Robby Caulfield (Setauket,
N.Y./Ward Melville), Brendon Albaugh (Ewing,
N.J./The Peddie School), Austin Iovoli (Victor,
N.Y./Victor) and Joe Zamadics (West Chester,
Pa./West Chester East), is ranked third (10:48.90) while
the 4 x 400 relay squad of Ross Koehler (Park Ridge,
N.J./Park Ridge), Chance King
(Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh Free Academy), Albaugh and
Ben Wilson (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) stands
in fifth (3:32.76).
Also is junior thrower Ken Schetroma (Elysburg,
Pa./Southern Columbia), whose mark of 14.33m in the shot
put places him fifth in the region. Another thrower joining the
list is sophomore Seth Landgraf (Millersburg,
Pa./Millersburg Area), whose toss of 14.16m in the weight
throw ranks him seventh in the region.
SU’s women, meanwhile, are the 14th-ranked team in the
region with two individuals and two relay teams among the top eight
in their events. Leading that group is senior Kristin Stam
(Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area), who is third in the
triple jump with a mark 10.91m and eighth in the long jump
(4.95m).
In addition, jumper Jennifer Tims (Campbell,
N.Y./Campbell-Savona) stands eighth in the triple jump
with her distance of 10.18m.
The 4 x 400 relay team comprised of Lindsay Robbins (West
Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury), Rachel DiMattia
(Glenolden, Pa./Interboro), Kelsey Hermick
(Hallstead, Pa/Elk Lake) and Laura
Alleva (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) is sixth with a
time of 4:14.41 and the DMR team of Maggie Storch (Troy,
Pa./Troy Area), Brooke Linders (Doylestown,
Pa./Central Bucks West), Teresa
McHale (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge) and
Shannon Galvin (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks South)
also stands sixth (13:24.30).
The teams return to competition this Friday and Saturday at
Bucknell’s two-day meet.
