LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Several school records were broken as Susquehanna's men's and women's track & field squads competed in the 14th annual Bucknell Bison Open & Multi on Friday and Saturday.
Senior Kristin Stam (Wellsboro, Pa. / Wellsboro Area) recorded the third fastest time in school history in the 60m hurdles, finishing in 9.75. She broke the school record in the triple jump, posting a distance of 11.29m.
Freshman Laura Alleva (Malvern, Pa. / Great Valley) broke the school record in the 500m run in 1:22.41.
Senior Maggie Storch (Troy, Pa. / Troy Area) set the eighth-fastest time in SU history in the mile, crossing the finish line in 5:35.84. Sophomore Shannon Galvin (Jamison, Pa. / Central Bucks South) set the tenth-fastest time in school history, finishing in 5:41.79.
Freshman Thanida Sermsuwan (Bridgewater, N.J. / Bridgewater-Raritan) set the fifth all-time longest distance in the triple jump, recording a distance of 10.37m.
In men's action, Ken Schetroma (Elysburg, Pa. / Southern Columbia Area)broke his school record in the shot put, throwing a distance of 15.14m.
Freshman Brian Etz (Cortland, N.Y. / Cortland) finished the 60m hurdles in 9.37, which is tied for seventh place all-time in school history.
Junior Joe Zamadics (West Chester, Pa. / West Chester East) finished the mile in 4:23.46, which is a personal best and keeps him in fourth place all-time.
Both track & field teams compete in the Crusader Classic on Friday, Feb. 3 at 4:00 p.m.
