Ranck, Schetroma Selected as SAAC Super Crusaders

SELINSGROVE, Pa. –Men’s and women’s track & field programs are represented as this week’s SAAC Super Crusaders with juniors Jess Ranck (Lewisburg, Pa. / Lewisburg Area) and Ken Schetroma (Elysburg, Pa. / Southern Columbia) selected for the period ending Feb. 5.

At the Crusader Classic, Ranck won the weight throw with a personal-best distance of 12.68m. She also took fifth place in the shot put with a toss of 10.23m, another PR. She is currently ranked third in the weight throw and fifth in the shot put in the Landmark Conference.

Schetroma placed second in the shot put and weight throw at this past weekend’s Crusader Classic. He set a school shot put record and broke his personal-best in the process with a heave of 15.23 in the shot put. He threw a distance of 14.17m in the weight throw.

Thus far in 2012, Schetroma is ranked first in the Landmark Conference in both throw events.

Both student-athletes will be back in action as the Crusaders host the SU Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 11, starting at 10:00 a.m.
