Crusaders Compete in Husky Open
BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Susquehanna’s men’s and women’s track & field teams competed at the Bloomsburg University Husky Open on Saturday, with several personal bests set in the process.
Dan Reinhart (Manakin Sabot, Va. / Lenox Memorial) set a p.r. in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing in 9:53.51.
In the 1500m run, Austin Iovoli (Victor, N.Y. / Victor) set a p.r., crossing the finish line in 4:14.74. Iovoli also set a p.r. in the 800m run, coming in seventh with a time of 2:01.26.
Carter Buxton (Madison, N.J. / Madison) had a personal best in the 400m dash, finishing sixth in 54.01.
Alex Price (Skytop, Pa. / Pocono Mountain East) placed second in the 5000m run with a time of 16:05.66, which was his first time in the event at the collegiate level. Colby Brindle (State College, Pa. / State College Area) also set a p.r. with a mark of 16:33.43, placing fifth.
On the women’s side, senior Kaitlin Peropat (Wellsboro, Pa. / Wellsboro Area) placed second in the 1500m run, crossing the finish line in 5:30.61.
In the long jump, Kristin Stam (Wellsboro, Pa. / Wellsboro Area) placed second with a distance of 5.09m. Jonaida Willams (Williamsport, Pa. / Loyalsock Twp.) finished sixth with a personal best distance of 4.94m.
Stam also placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 11.30m, only .05m off the top spot and setting another p.r. Williams came in third at 10.72m, also a personal best.
In the pole vault, Julie Scales (Berkeley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston) finished fourth, clearing the bar at 3.10m, a personal best mark.
Jessica Ranck (Lewisburg, Pa. / Lewisburg Area) placed fifth in the shot put with a personal best heave of 10.17m. Ranck also set p.r.’s in the javelin with a toss of 26.57m., the hammer (37.94m) and discus (36.22m).
