Minori Heading to Track Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Susquehanna men’s track & field team will yet again be sending an athlete to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships weekend as javelin thrower Jared Minori (Tyrone, Pa./Bellwood-Antis) will compete this coming Saturday.

Minori, a freshman, is currently ranked ninth in the nation in the javelin and his season-best mark of 62.24 is second-best in the Landmark Conference this season and the fourth-best mark in SU history. That mark came at the landmark Conference Championships on April 28-29 where he won the event.

The Championship meet is being held May 24-26 at Burns Stadium in Claremont, Calif. Minori, who is also a member of the football team, will compete on Saturday at 3:40 p.m. EST. Last year the Crusaders sent two athletes – Braden Klingler ’11 (javelin) and Alycia Woodruff ’11 (5,000 meter) – to the NCAA Championships.
