LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Susquehanna men's track & field team opened competition on Saturday at the two-day Bison Outdoor Classic.
Senior Jared Minori captured third in the javelin and was the top collegiate athlete with his mark of 214-03 (65.30m), just off his personal-best mark of 216-00 (65.84m). Just two spots behind him was Alex Messick with his career mark of 204-01 (62.20m), surpassing his previous PR of 61.92m.
Desmond Edwards placed 20th in the triple jump after posting a mark of 12.64m.
On the track, Justin Skavery crossed the finish of the unseeded 1500m run with a time of 4:10.60 and Colin Eberhardt ran a 9:46.29 in the 30000m steeplechase to place 39th.
In the 5000m run, John Crowe posted a time of 15:19.05 to place 50th in the 112-runner field while Mark Harrel and Dan Isenberg both posted career-best times with respective times of 15:46.57 and 15:47.02.
The team concludes competition on Sunday beginning at 11 a.m.
